The Southern California Volleyball Association (SCVA) is a non-profit organization affiliated with USA Volleyball – the national governing body for amateur volleyball. The primary objective of the SCVA is to furnish an opportunity for volleyball players to participate in an organized schedule of tournament play.
The season of organized play for Junior Girls is held from November through June. SoCal Travel teams will play 9 regular season tournaments and attend a week-long season-ending tournament. Additionally, the travel teams will attempt to qualify for the Junior Olympics and 17s and 18s will attend the college showcase tournament in Las Vegas and an invitational in Phoenix, Arizona. Local teams play a slightly less strenuous schedule than our travel teams with all tournaments played in San Diego; typically in Poway. Formats of each tournament are usually pool play to insure teams the most playing time in the tournament.
USA Volleyball, the governing body in volleyball, has set out age definitions for each division. Click here to find out where you fit in.
SoCal does its best never to turn players away. The club provides numerous options to best address the ability of each individual player.
Each team will be comprised of between 10 and 12 players. NEVER more than 12.
