Aimee Asebroek

Coaching Director

Competitive, Kind, Thoughtful

Club Director, Volleyball Instructor, B.A. Spanish with minor in educational studies, UCI

  • Led SoCal’s 15-1 team to a first place finish in the 2013 Summer Soiree.
  • An active leader in our local volleyball community, is current Varsity Coach at Vista High School and has coached at the college level.

Players would describe Aimee’s coaching style as, “tough but fair, passionate, focused on technique and ball control, never mad or yelling but positive, smiling and nurturing.”

Aimee Asebroek graduated with honors from the University of California, Irvine in 2005 where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and her minor in Educational Studies. At UC Irvine, she was the president and captain of the women’s club volleyball team for three years, earning the SCCVL Player of the Year award her last three years. Aimee was also the President of the Southern California Collegiate Volleyball league.

Aimee started her club coaching career with North County Volleyball Club’s 12 and under team at the age of 19, and has since coached at SoCal Volleyball Club. She has coached teams at every age group and level for girls, and the 14s and 16s level for boys. She has also run camps and coached for the City of Vista, Club Strictly Volleyball and North County Volleyball Club.

Aimee has coached at San Marcos High School and assisted at AIAA Conference Champion Cal State San Marcos University, and worked closely with their head coach, A.I.I. Volleyball Coach of the Year, Andrea Leonard on both the coaching and recruiting side. She spent 4 years as the Varsity Coach at Vista High School. She has worked closely with her volleyball mentor, Olympian Mary Jo Peppler to develop a curriculum for SoCal that ensures a player will have the same technically driven experience from coach to coach and team to team.

Aimee believes that consistent technical work and feedback are a must for ALL ages and skill levels but that developing and maintaining teamwork skills and great attitudes are even more critical. For her, there is an overriding emphasis on enjoying the experience as a whole and creating a lifelong love for the game. Aimee also stresses consistent hard work and respect for one another and coaches. She teaches her coaches to be kind, fair, consistent and disciplined with their kids.

The following year she transferred schools and sports to Palomar College refocusing on volleyball. In her sophomore campaign Green earned AVCA All-American, 1st Team All-State, and Pacific Coast Conference Player of the Year accolades while leading the Comets to a first place finish in the PCC. Ben Moselle

Member Finance Coordinator

Volleyball & Fitness Instructor, B.A. Economics from UCLA, M.B.A. from UC Irvine
  • NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist
  • ACSM Certified Personal Trainer
  • AAHF “Jr.Fit” Youth Fitness Specialty Certification
  • Functional Movement Systems (FMS) Certified
Ben Moselle graduated from San Dieguito High School (Encinitas) in 1993, and played on three national championship teams at UCLA (’95, ’96 and ’98), earning AVCA All-American honors in 1998. When Ben graduated with a degree in economics that year, he shared (with Kevin Wong) the UCLA team record for most aces in a single match.
Moselle was volunteer assistant coach for the Rutgers University men’s club team in 1999 while training for a stint playing professional volleyball in Holland. Moselle then went on to earn an MBA degree at UC Irvine in 2002. Since that time, Moselle has conducted small-group fitness classes and coached club volleyball in the San Diego area.
Ben’s true passion is fitness. As a strength and conditioning specialist, his goal is to help SoCal players gain a physical advantage and stay healthy throughout their athletic careers and beyond. As a volleyball coach, Ben embraces players’ individual talents and instincts, promoting “volley-I.Q.” development rather than stressing technical X’s, O’s and angles.

Craig Scott

  • Doctorate in Geology, University of Quebec at Chicoutimi
  • 9-year member of Santa Barbara County Search & Rescue Team (active)
  • 4-year varsity starter at Memorial University of Newfoundland
  • Top blocker in Atlantic University Athletic Association (AUAA) 3-years in a row
  • First team all-star in AUAA (1993)
  • Former Girls/Boys Middle School Coach at Santa Ynez Charter School (8-years)
  • Former coach at Spikers Volleyball Club in Santa Ynez Valley
  • Current Santa Ynez High School Boys Coach

Hailing from the Great White North, Craig traded his hockey stick for volleyball shoes at an early age and has never looked back. Always undersized and underestimated, he used his quickness and athletic ability to have a very successful collegiate career. Craig applies his 10-years of teaching experience into coaching, starting from fundamentals, to provide the framework for future success. From his background in academics to athletics, he stresses players to be prepared both mentally and physically every time they step onto the court. He provides a challenging and fun environment in the gym with positive feedback. He bases his success not from team wins, but from player/team growth through the entire season. There are no shortcuts to success and he firmly believes in teams playing fundamental volleyball even if at the expensive of wins. His passion for the game is reflected in his coach style: intense, competitive, challenging, but have fun whenever you can!
